Who it helps

## For recovery, for arthritis and for fitness

Hydrotherapy suits dogs recovering from surgery, older dogs with stiff joints and sporting dogs building fitness. Water supports their weight while they work, so they can move further and more freely than on land.

What to expect

## Your dog's first hydrotherapy sessions

Every course starts with an Initial assessment, so we know what your dog needs before they go near the water.

Session one

### Settling in

A short, calm first visit. We let your dog explore the pool room and meet the water at their own pace.

Each visit

### Warm pool or treadmill

Twenty to thirty minutes of guided exercise, chosen for your dog's condition and adjusted as they progress.

At home

### Exercises between visits

A home exercise programme, in print and on video, so the work carries on between sessions.

Meet Ross

## In the water with our senior hydrotherapist

Ross has a gift for the first session, when a dog is unsure of the water and an owner is unsure of everything. He goes in slowly, talks the whole time and lets each dog set the pace. Owners say they feel calmer just watching him work. He remembers every patient's name and their favourite treat, and he still sends a note when an old friend reaches a milestone.

## Is hydrotherapy right for your dog?

Book an Initial assessment for £75. We will watch your dog move, film their gait and tell you honestly whether the pool will help.
